I'll admit I saw the BBC mini series of this before I read the book. Shame! But I was pleased that the book was better in all the ways that I wanted it to be! My two favorite parts about this story are Mr. Rochester and Thornfeild Hall. That house is a prime example of why I am continually intrigued by large houses with lots of staircases and passages! Also Mr. Rochester is mysterious and complex, every kind of sexy you could want in a victorian gothic novel. A further quality of this story I appreciated is that the love story may start out on Jane's part being the love of a young woman who meets a sexy mysterious man and takes a fancy to him. However, it ends in a mature love between two adults who know all of each other's secrets and flaws but love each other the more for them.
I don't have a lot to say about this, although I did enjoy it and would recommend it
