this was just sooo... ugh! To start with I had actually written a review, and i somehow manage to delete it so maybe its a good thing because I said awful things about the author. I just feel so emotionally cheated! I'm so mad! I'm mad I read it, I'm mad that the ending is the same in the movie so I won't go see which i was soooo excited about, I'm mad about everything. SPOILER ALERT! I have always thought, sad books make great books, a happy ending is great but crying and being sad about the ending makes it better, a character dies and sadness ensures. Boy was I WRONG. NO, a character dying doesn't equal sadness, it makes me feel cheated! It's like the author couldn't decide how to end this novel which wasn't going that great either before the death, and said, hey ill just kill her! BAM! Ugh! It's felt so out of nowhere, yes life can be like that but this just felt so forced and inorganic that it makes me even sadder because i really wanted to see this movie. The movie, which looks awesome, just made me read the book and I'm pissed now. Really the biggest problems I had was that the novel was anticlimatic, when they got together, it didn't meet expectation (which i would be willing to understand because sometimes thats life), the text at times was just plain BORING (just aweful and boring and i skipped paragraphs at times then went back and reread them (should have left them unread)) and the death was out of nowhere. I would have been okay to kill emma but this death felt so forced, so random, and then the pages after it made me feel like crying... OF BOREDOM! I felt so sadness for Dex, he made me feel no sadness, and I was just done with the novel. I just wanted to stop reading, but kept on hoping there would be some big change and I would love the end. Which didn't happen.
